Entrepreneurs Question Time

BEN feature
26 November, 2009 - 18:00 - 26 November, 2009 - 21:00

Co-hosted by  University of the West of England  and

This will be the sixth of BEN's popular series of Entrepreneurs Question Time events.

Our panel at this event consists of entrepreneurs with a fascinating variety of backgrounds and experiences, which they will summarise for us at the start of the evening.  Rob Law will explain how failing to win investment for Trunki on Dragon's Den was one of the best things that has happened to his company!

We will then have a Q&A session, similar to television's Question Time.  But instead of shifty politicians giving vague and evasive answers these entrepreneurs are here to give direct answers based on life at the business coalface.

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions on the night, but it is helpful if you could submit a question in advance and be prepared to ask it! You can pick any topic you like but please try and make the questions general enough so that all members of the panel can offer an answer.

You may email it in advance, to ben-enquiries@bristol.ac.uk

27/11/09 Thanks Jenny and Martin, thought it was a good event -- well organised, and with a good match between the panel and audience. It was fun being on the panel, and I'll certainly be attending future events as a delegate. Best regards, Tim Monks, Third Dimension
27/11/09 Best yet Question Time. In fact, a good Question Time. I've not particularly appreciated them in the past, but have attended a few simply because they're so popular and I didn't want to miss out! * Don't know why. Atmosphere was down-to-earth, credible, integrity, communicative. Well chaired. Responses were thoughtful, insightful, free of platitudes. * Very credible panel. Serious time-served, successful entrepreneurs. * Professionally-staged. I reckon Martin's attention-to-detail re. IT, PA etc. pays off. There's a lot to get right, and if just one connection is dickey, or one microphone battery is flat, the result looks pretty amateurish. * Location and venue excellent. * I enjoyed it, but am not an entrepreneur. I wonder how many entrepreneurs were there? I suspect not a lot. I suspect mostly hangers-on, like me! Hmm. Mark Brough, Business Development Consultant, IPL Information Processing Ltd
